[ARCHIVED] Royal Oak Welcomes Meg Trouba as New Economic Development Director

Royal Oak, Mich.—The City of Royal Oak is pleased to announce that Meg Trouba has been appointed as the City’s new Economic Development Director for the City. She’ll begin her new role on Monday, August 18.

Meg brings more than 10 years of experience in the local government sector, with an emphasis on economic development, strategic planning, and collaborative governance. Most recently she served as Village Administrator for the Village of Franklin, overseeing daily operations, budget management, and major capital projects

“I am excited to join the City of Royal Oak’s talented team,” Meg said. “I look forward to fostering growth, supporting our business community, and enhancing the city’s vibrant future.”

Previously, Meg served as Assistant City Manager for the City of Troy, Michigan, where she oversaw critical operations in Economic Development, Community Development, and Engineering. She also played a key role in administering the Downtown Development Authority, Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, and Local Development Finance Authority. Her efforts helped attract and retain businesses, strengthen public-private partnerships, and deliver responsive services to more than 87,000 residents.

"Meg brings practical economic development experience and the big-picture mindset of a city manager, which is a heck of a combination,” said Royal Oak City Manager Joe Gacioch. “Her energy, optimism, and creativity will be a boon for our businesses and make her the perfect fit for Royal Oak."

Meg holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in local and state government. She has completed advanced training through the Michigan Municipal League and is a committed member of the Michigan Economic Developers Association, the International City/County Management Association, the Michigan Municipal League, and other professional associations supporting public sector excellence.
