Construction Project Updates


The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1935 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


The week of October 21st, the contractor will continue clean up work on Benjamin Ave and landscape restoration. New paint.striping will also be placed.

On W. Houstonia Ave, the contractor plans to place a rejuvenating agent on the new asphalt to help extend the life of the pavement. 'No Parking' signs will be placed along the street the day beforehand. A date has not yet been set for this 1-day operation.

Minor punch list items and restoration work will be performed on the other project streets.

The contractor is mostly complete with all the project streets. There are a few remaining patches and punch list work to be completed the week of October 21st.

CAP1910 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


On S. Blair Street, the contractor will finish pouring the new pavement the week of October 21st, expecting to finish by Wednesday. The street will remain closed for one week while the new pavement cures, then the contractor will begin working on driveway approaches.

BLAIR ST - TRASH & RECYCLING PICKUP: Trucks will not be able to access the street on OCTOBER 23RD. If desired, residents can place containers at the nearest street corner for pick up and retrieve containers at the end of the day. Please be sure to mark containers with your address.

On E. Harrison Ave, the contractor will finish water main connections then begin transferring water services later in the week. Property owners will be notified individually when there service will be transferred as this is a short 20-30 minute operation.

The week of October 21st, the contractor will begin water main installation on Normandy Road east of Coolidge Hwy. Edgar Avenue will be closed at Normandy Road during the installation, residents must exit their block to the south.

The top layer of asphalt has now been placed. The week of October 21st, the contractor will be putting down the new striping/paint for the roadway and will work on restoration.
