Construction Project Updates

Residents on affected streets were mailed construction notices in the Spring with detailed information on the project.

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1908/09 14 Mile Road Resurfacing Improvements

Greenfield Road to Crooks Road

City Contractor: Pamar Enterprises, Inc

The city's contractor will be finishing restoration work and removing traffic control devices the week of July 15th.

14 MILE ROAD IMPORTANT UPDATE:

The city originally planned to resurface 14 Mile Road from Greenfield Road to Crooks Road this summer, but the contractor bids for the road work were significantly over budget. The city has temporarily cancelled the project and will re-bid the work for spring/summer 2020 construction. The water main projects on 14 Mile Road are now complete, and 14 Mile Road will remain open to traffic until road work resumes next year.

CAP1935 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.

The week of July 15th, the contractor will begin pavement removals on the east side of Massoit Road. Residents whose driveway access will be affected will be notified via door hanger in advance.

The contractor also plans to work on curbing replacement on W. Houstonia Avenue, likely later in the week.

The contractor tentatively plans to begin work on Benjamin Avenue towards the end of the week, but will likely not begin until the following week of July 22nd.

CAP1905 Concrete Pavement Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Inc.

The contractor plans to continue pavement work on the project streets south of 14 Mile Road and north of Normandy Road the week of July 15th. There is also some remaining work to be completed on Lexington Blvd.

The contractor plans to continue prepping the streets north of 14 Mile Road.

If driveway access will be affected, residents will receive a notice via door hanger the day beforehand. The contractor will only work on one side of the street at a time, to maintain access for residents.

CAP1915 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries Inc

The week of July 15th, the contractor plans to place the top layer of asphalt on the remaining project streets. Restoration work will follow.

CAP1910 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.

The week of July 15th, the contractors plans to work on the south half of Albert Avenue.

Half of Judson Avenue will be closed for the week, while the new pavement cures.

The contractor will also be continuing water main tie-ins and connections on Normandy Road.
