Greenfield Road to Crooks Road
SOCWA Contractor: Verdeterre Contracting, Inc.
City Contractor: Pamar Enterprises, Inc
This project includes work in conjunction with the South Oakland County Water Authority, Michigan Department of Transportation and the Road Commission for Oakland County.
14 Mile Road will be under construction for most of the 2019 construction season, with traffic often limited to one lane in each direction. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during construction, especially during rush hour. For more information regarding the complete scope of the project, visit: www.romi.gov/14Mile
The city's contractor plans to finish setting up their staging area at Upton Park and delivering materials to the site the week of April 1st. Access to their staging area will be off of Massoit Road. The contractor plans to begin pavement removals, drilling and fusing water main for installation between Woodward and Cooper Avenue. There may be limited access to side streets and driveways during construction. Residents will be notified 24 hours in advance if access to their driveway will be affected.
SOCWA's contractor will continue heading east with their water main work the week of April 1st. They will be primarily working in the median of Coolidge Highway, and east of the rail road bridge.
The current lane closures will remain, with the below restrictions:
- 14 Mile Road traffic is shifted to the north side lanes of the CN railroad bridge with one lane of travel open in each direction
- NO LEFT TURNS are allowed onto southbound Coolidge from westbound 14 Mile Road
- North Coolidge Highway is reduced to one right turn lane and one left turn lane for traffic heading south onto 14 Mile Road
