What's Happening: Second Street Parking Deck

Weather permitting, exterior asphalt/roadwork near the new downtown parking structure is scheduled to begin on Nov. 6 and continue through Nov. 15.
 
This construction work will impact the Center Street parking deck as well as traffic on Center Street, Second Street and Washington Avenue, including:

  • On Tuesday, Nov. 14, there will be NO PARKING and NO ACCESS/EGRESS to the existing Center Street parking structure from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 
  • From Nov. 13- 15, the Post Office will have public access by sidewalk ONLY.

 
As always, please remember to use caution and obey all work zone signs and personnel during this period and remember this work is weather dependent and could be rescheduled or delayed.
 
 
The schedule is as follows:
 
Monday, Nov. 6:
 
The Center Street parking deck ENTRANCE will be closed and parking access/egress for the EXISTING deck will be through the east entrance (Center Street-side) of the NEW parking structure.
 
Wednesday, Nov. 8 through Monday, Nov. 13
 
A portion of Center Street, near the intersection of Second Street, will be closed for concrete road patching.   No southbound or northbound traffic NORTH of the Center Street entrance to the NEW deck will be permitted. 
 
Saturday, Nov. 11
 
The lane closures on Center Street for milling work will allow for ONE WAY southbound traffic from Second Street only. SECOND STREET, from Center to Washington, WILL BE CLOSED for road milling.  
 
The Post Office will have public access by sidewalk ONLY during the asphalt operation from Nov. 13- 15.
 
Monday, Nov. 13      
 
Complete road milling on Center and Second streets.
 
Tuesday, Nov. 14
 
There will be NO PARKING and NO ACCESS/EGRESS to the existing Center Street parking structure from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as new asphalt paving begins on Center Street.  To be clear, you will not be able to enter or exit the structure during this period.
 
All road closures should be removed at close of business on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
 
Wednesday, Nov. 15
 
Selective lane closure will be taking place throughout the day for road striping and arrow painting.
 
Thursday, Nov. 16
 
All perimeter traffic conditions surrounding the new parking structure should return to normalcy. 
 
Again, the above scheduling is WEATHER DEPENDENT and subject to change.
