2024 Construction Projects Map

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2407 Crooks Road

This week the contractor will be grading the roadway where the new water main has been installed, and then begin pavement removals working from 13 Mile south.

CAP2416/2415 Asphalt Resurfacing

This project will resurface several streets in the residential neighborhoods and the downtown.

Phase 1: Complete.

Phase 2: Irrigation and landscape restoration will continue this week.

Phase 3 & 4: Paving complete, landscape restoration to follow as contractor finishes with Phase 2 streets.

Phase 5: The contractor will be paving the first layer of asphalt on the remaining Phase 5 streets Monday, Irving and Batavia. During the rest of the week, the contractor will be adjusting manholes and sewer structures for the final roadway height. Once this is complete the final layer of paving will be scheduled.

CAP2435 Road Reconstruction

The forecast of inclement weather this week may delay some of the work.

For completed streets: The contractor will be working on joint sealing and landscape restoration.

On Massoit, the contractor plans to pave this week, tentatively scheduled for Thursday.

On Vinsetta, the contractor will be doing pavement removals.

On Marais, the contractor will be begin working on pavement removals towards the end of the week.

 *As part of this project the contractor will also be installing traffic calming chicanes on Marais Avenue between Thistle and Lexington as approved by the city commission.

CAP2405 Concrete Street Repairs

This project will replace some of the worst panels on the project streets shown in light blue on the project map linked above.

Phase 1, 2 and 3 streets are now complete.

For Phase 4 streets, the contractor will be working on second halves this week, pouring the new concrete. 

For Phase 5 streets, the contractor will be working on removals for second halves.

First halves / Second halves - The contractor will work on one side of the street at a time to maintain access for residents during construction.

CAP2410 Water Main Improvements

Water main installation will continue working east, heading towards Crooks on the westbound side of the roadway. As the contractor moves east block to block, that block will be temporarily closed to traffic during work hours to allow for equipment and operations, and re-opened at the end of each work day.

The contractor will also be replacing a leaky gate valve and begin installing some new fire hydrants along the corridor.

CAP2440 Green Infrastructure Improvements

Sheridan Drive - Arden Place - Grandview Road

The contractor has finished installing the new water main and it will undergo testing this week. Once complete they will connect the new water main to the system.

CAP2402 Sidewalk Program

The contractor is finishing up all the sidewalk work on major roads this week (with the exception of Crooks).

Lawn restoration will continue in Phase 6-7 and then continue on to the major roads.
