City Wide Block Party is June 2 at the Farmers Market

Join us for the City-Wide Block Party on June 5 from 6-8 pm at the Royal Oak Farmers Market! Come meet the K9 Patrol, explore a fire engine, and enjoy endless games, giveaways, food trucks and more! The DJ for the evening is USPS letter carrier Jim Hunter.

'NO MOW MAY' DRAWS TO AN END

Thanks to everyone who participated in No Mow May this year.

As we move into June, it’s time to resume mowing our lawns.

Here are a few tips to transition smoothly:

Gradual Mowing: If your grass has grown particularly tall, consider mowing in stages. Start with a higher setting on your mower and gradually lower it to avoid stressing the grass.
Plant Pollinator-Friendly Flowers: Even as you resume mowing, you can continue to support pollinators by planting flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and other insects. Consider adding native flowering plants to your garden beds or creating a dedicated pollinator garden.
Mowing Schedule: Set a regular mowing schedule that keeps your lawn at an optimal height. This will ensure your grass stays healthy and attractive, providing a pleasant outdoor space for your family and friends.
