Power Outage

More than 2000 DTE customers are currently experiencing a power outage in Royal Oak. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this inconvenience. Stay safe and patient as the teams work to restore power as quickly as possible. 

  •  If you are experiencing an outage, the Royal Oak Public Library, 222 E 11 Mile,  has a range of amenities to keep you connected:
  • Fully-equipped computer lab is at your service.
  • Chromebooks 
  • A laptop bar  – plug in your own device or use one of ours, and charge up while you work. 
  • Charging stations for all your devices, so you can juice up and stay connected.
  • Enjoy a comfortable environment with air conditioning to beat the heat.
  • Borrow materials from the Library of Things, including games you can play right at the library!
  • Dive into the community puzzle.
  • The children's area is filled with toys, early learning computers, and puzzles to keep them engaged.

No matter the power outage, you'll find a haven of connectivity at the Royal Oak Public Library. The library closes at 6 PM and is open Saturday from 9 AM - 6 PM.

Also available to residents:

  • Mahany Meiniger Senior Center, 3500 Marais. Open until 4 PM.
  • Salter Community Center, 1545 E Lincoln Ave. Open until 4 PM.
