Join us as we celebrate the power of reading with author visits, prizes, and plenty of great suggested reads in numerous formats. This summer’s theme is titled Oceans of Possibilities, all about not only aquatic themes but oceanic in the broadest sense of the word. The adult program kicks off Saturday, June 18, at 10:00AM, at the same time as the youth and teen summer programs (take a look at Twigs on page 10 for more information). There will be plenty of reading suggestions for print, audio and ebook titles related to the theme, along with a great mixture of beach reads, romances, thrillers, mysteries and multicultural titles. Of course, to participate you are not limited to this year’s theme.
As in previous years we will be using Beanstack to manage the Summer Reading Program (SRP). Beanstack is a web service and mobile app to help you create and manage your participation in the SRP for both adults and kids. It is easy to register, track reading, and earn incentives and prizes with Beanstack. And as in previous years adults may enter drawings to win gift cards and book prizes. Please stay tuned for further details. To register and participate without using Beanstack, please contact Rosemary Mirsky at (248) 246-3715 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
With the summer, we are beginning to reinstate in-person programming while maintaining a robust offering of digital programs for those who prefer all the comforts of home. While we endeavor to accommodate everyone’s needs and interests this summer, the safety of patrons and staff is our top priority. Therefore, if conditions such as infection rates warrant, we reserve the right to pivot or cancel in-person programs. Please note there is no registration required for many in-person programs which are on a first come, first served basis.
