Summer Reading Program: Sign Up Now! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, our Summer Reading theme is A Universe of Stories. Registration is ongoing for ROPL’s summer reading program. It is for all ages. Choose the appropriate age group below, register, and start logging your reading online (or pick up paper reading logs at the library). By logging your reading online you will automatically be entered into prize drawings and alerted when you qualify for prizes.

Adult Summer Reading Program 2019
Registration Register for the Adult Summer Reading Program online or in person using our registration sign-up sheet.
Prize Drawing Adult Summer Reading participants will be able to submit their titles for the Saturday, August 3 prize drawing online or on “bingo cards” available in the library near the Adult Reference Desk. Remember, each entry in the drawing must have 3 titles you’ve read or listened to, no matter what format. You can submit as many entries you like as long as you do not submit duplicate titles. Winners will be selected and contacted on Saturday, August 3.
Teen Summer Reading Program 2019
Registration Register for the Teen Summer Reading Program online or in person by completing the Teen Summer Reading registration form. Then you’re eligible to enter the Weekly and Grand Prize drawings, and choose a free book at the end of Summer Reading!
Weekly Prizes Log your Summer Reading progress online or in the drop box in the Teen Zone for a chance to win! Both reading and attending ROPL teen programs qualify as summer reading progress.
Grand Prize Teen Summer Reading participants who have completed 6 challenges will automatically be entered in the Grand Prize drawing! The winner will be announced at the Teen Summer Reading Finale party on Thursday, August 1.
Youth Summer Reading Program 2019
Register for the Summer Reading Program and receive a reading log to track your progress. Prizes are awarded at the half way mark and upon completion of your reading log. Bring your completed reading log to the Youth Services desk to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win Toyology prizes.Winners will be announced on August 3.
Use the paper reading logs or you may track your progress at ropl.org. All participants in Summer Reading Program may pick out a free book between July 22 and August 3 in the Youth Activity Room.
Baby & Toddlers Grab an activity log or keep track of progress online at ropl.org. Participants complete pre-literacy activities and actions that are recorded on the log. When the log is completed it may be turned in for a small prize and an entry into the Grand Prize drawing. Up to three logs can be turned in for prizes. Participants may also pick out a free book from July 22 through August 3.
Read-to-Me Pre-readers can track progress by sharing books together with a grown-up and recording them on a reading log or online.
At 20 books, participants will receive a food voucher prize and a trip to the treasure chest. At 40 books, they will receive another food voucher prize, another trip to the treasure chest, and an entry into the Grand Prize drawing on August 3.
Participants may also complete challenges on their logs to earn an entry into a prize drawing for zoo passes. Up to three logs can be turned in for prizes and participants may also pick out a free book from July 22 through August 3.
Independent Readers Designed for kids who are reading independently, Readers track their minutes of reading on a log or online.
At the halfway point, or 500 minutes of reading, participants will receive a food voucher prize and a trip to the treasure chest. Upon completion of 1,000 minutes of reading, participants will receive another food voucher prize, another trip to the treasure chest, and an entry into the Grand Prize drawing on August 3.
They may also complete challenges on their logs to earn an entry into a prize drawing for movie passes. Up to three logs can be turned in for prizes and participants may also pick out a free book from July 22 through August 3.
