The City of Royal Oak has posted a list of tips and suggestions on how to stay safe and best clean your home after the flood.
The Red Cross has prepared a helpful guide, Repairing Your Flooded Home, about cleaning up and fixing any damage.
The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency, which responds to disasters, has prepared a site with information about flooding. When on the site, you can get information about before, during and after a flood. Click on After for a fact sheet outlining the steps you should take in the days immediately following the disaster. The site also offers information on flood insurance and making claims.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has a helpful fact sheet called Flood Cleanup: Avoiding Indoor Air Quality Problems.
To find a fire and water restoration contractor, visit the Better Business Bureau and set up your search for Royal Oak, MI at the main screen. While at the site, check for any reviews or complaints about the vendor.
Technological progress never stops and as we try to keep on top of new trends and developments, we are seeking your input regarding our catalog. Beginning the week of August 4, a link to a brief customer survey will appear on our catalog page. The survey will ask about how, where and which devices customers use to access the Library’s catalog. By completing this survey, your input will help our staff and the staff of the Library Network determine which available software best meets customer needs and which providers offer the most relevant features. As part of an ongoing review process, a committee of member libraries, which participate in the shared catalog, is currently reviewing a variety of library catalog software vendors. While there are many aspects in the review process, providing a software that is easy and convenient for the public to use is a top priority and understanding how the public uses the catalog will help guide the decisions. The survey will be available through the end of September. We appreciate your time and input.
