Glen Thomas Shelbyage 82 died on February 7 2012 in Marion Illinois after a long battle with cancer. He was a long time Michigan resident currently residing in Pittsburg IL. He was born in Greenway Arkansas to Limuel and Hattie Shelby on July 14 1929. Mr. Shelby was a career auto mechanic who worked at Mike Savoie and Joe Lunghamer dealerships. He also worked for Hoekstra Truck Equipment Company. He enjoyed his home in Higgins Lake Mich. cooking fishing collecting and rebuilding classic cars.He was a lifetime member of the United Street Machine Association. Mr. Shelby is survived by his children Michael Shelby of Mt. Morris Mich. Neil (Donna) Hering of Berkley Mich. and Sondra Lucas of Quincy Mich.; grandchildren Thomas Shelby Amanda (Brian) Daniels and Colin Hering and great-grandchildren Caroline and Everett Daniels.He leaves behind his beloved sister Mary Layne of Pittsburg IL along with many nieces nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Dean (Hering) Shelby; brother Charlie Shelby and sister Grace Copeland.Memorial tributes may be made in Mr. Shelby's name to the .
