Harriet E. Akers age 96 died December 3 2011 at her home in Southfield. Mrs. Akers along with her husband Reed established owned and operated Akers Refrigeration from 1939 until 1976. She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church and a resident of Southfield for 72 years. Beloved wife of the late Reed. G. (1998). Dear mother of Genareed (Vince) Durbin Janice Cox Carla Hinsley Kendall (Renee) Akers and Harry (Janet) Akers. Also survived by a sibling Corwin Custer; 33 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation Wednesday 5-9 p.m. and Thursday 12-3 p.m. at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home 2125 12 Mile Road Berkley. (2 blocks west of Woodward). Instate Thursday 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. time of service at Faith Baptist Church 3118 Greenfield Road Royal Oak. (Between 12 1/2 Mile and 13 Mile Roads) Private entombment Roseland Park Cemetery.
