Quinn, Harrie Hickey; age 78; passed away peacefully on September 27, 2014 with his loving wife, Vicki by his side at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on November 1, 1935 in Detroit, MI, the son of Ericson Burdette Quinn and Alice Madeline Hickey Quinn. Harrie was a graduate of Bloomfield Hills High School class of 1953 and afterward served his country by enlisting in the Air Force. He worked for GM Truck and Coach Company in Pontiac, MI for 30 years until his retirement in 1990 as a general foreman. Harrie was a member of the Eagles Club as well as the Elks Lodge. He loved to travel with Vicki in their RV, spending winters in Florida along with their favorite stay over along the way in Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. He enjoyed spending time with his friends particularly while playing golf. Harrie will always be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit but most of all the love he had for his family. Harrie is survived by his loving bride and best friend, Vicki; 7 children, Eric (Diane) Quinn, Kay (Steve) Lancour, Meg Quinn (Liz Piotrowski), Maureen (Dan) McCabe, Cindy (Mike) Gibbs, Kari (Greg) Burks, and Kellie (Paul) McNutt; as well as 4 step-children, Lori Greer, Wendy Morris, Jeff Crisp and Sheri Crisp; also 20 grandchildren, Steven and Sara Quinn, Ian Zajac, Allie Kind, Joey and Erin Lancour, Jack and Ryan Gibbs, Brandon and Samantha Burks, Jaclyn Perry, Jason and David McNutt, Cory and Chris Greer, Jeremy, Jeffrey and Jimmy Morris, Johnathon Crisp and Seth Stephenson; as well as 9 great grandchildren. Harrie was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sallie Quinn Laidlaw; and his brother-in- law and best buddy, Harry “Skeet” Laidlaw. A Celebration of Harrie’s Life will be held at a future date.
