Transferring eBooks to a Nook

Print
Step 1 - Download and install free software
  • In order to transfer Adobe eBooks to a Nook, you have to download Adobe Digital Editions software to your computer and install it. The device also must be activated using the same Adobe ID you use when you configure Adobe Digital Editions.
  • Download Adobe Digital Editions Software: www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions
Step 2 - Go to ebooks.mcls.org

Step 3 - Check out, download, and enjoy
  • Browse or search OverDrive for Adobe eBooks. When you find a title you're interested in, add it to the BookBag and check it out.
    • If you come across a title that you are interested in checking out later, you can add it to your 'Wish List' and save it for later or checkout the same day.
    • If a title is not available, you can place it on hold. You will receive an e-mail once your title is available for checkout. You then have 3 days to checkout the available title. You can place up to 10 titles on hold at a time.
  • Once you have checked out a title, a download page is displayed. Click the 'Download' link to start the download. When the download is complete, open and enjoy the title.
  • You may have 10 titles checked out at a time.
  • You will never accrue late fees with titles you download from OverDrive. Titles expire at the end of the 14-day loan period, and they are automatically returned to the library. The title will remain on your device, but will not play anymore. You will have to delete it manually.
  • Titles cannot be renewed, but you can check them out again if they are available when the checkout period ends.
Step 4 - Transfer the eBook to a Nook
  1. Connect your device to your computer.
  2. Open Adobe Digital Editions.
  3. Select the 'Library View' icon (in the upper left corner).
  4. The Adobe Digital Editions library is displayed.
  5. Click on the Adobe eBook you want to transfer.
  6. Drag the Adobe eBook to the device icon in the left pane of Adobe Digital Editions.
  7. The 'Copy Documents' dialog box is displayed and the title is transferred.
  8. When transfer is complete the 'Copy Documents' dialog box closes. Disconnect the device and enjoy the eBook on-the-go.
How do I return Adobe eBooks early?
