Monday, November 10
07:00 PM - 08:45 PM
The burning of carbon fuel, while vital to our way of life, is also putting it at jeopardy. We currently do not have a “free” market influencing carbon use. We will review:
- What are carbon pricing and cap and trade?
- Economists' opinions of revenue neutral carbon fee
- Experiences of other governments
- Pros and cons
- Obstacles to implementing revenue neutral carbon fee
Please join Royal Oak resident Mary Janet Dunn on Monday, November 10 at 7:00 pm in the Friends Auditorium for discussion and information sharing. Ms Dunn feels that civil conversation is fundamental to our democracy. Climate change discussion and policy have become very polarized. Yet, we make better choices when sharing ideas.
Ms. Dunn is a member of SOLAR, the Sierra Club and a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. She is also a volunteer for the non-partisan Citizens' Climate Lobby.
