Eating Local: Our Food, Our Health, Our Future
Saturday, June 21
01:00 PM - 02:30 PM
Join local culinary speaker, cooking instructor and recipe developer Lisa Howard, on Saturday, June 21 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM in the Friends Auditorium. “Organic” and “local” make headlines every day, but what do they really mean? Join us to learn how modern food systems – from factories to farms – affect our everyday health.
We’ll talk about ways to connect with local food producers to choose the healthiest, most delicious, and most sustainable ingredients in Metro Detroit. Samples will be provided so you’ll be able to taste what we’re talking about, too.
Registration is required. Fill out the form below or call the adult reference desk at 248-246-3727. Sponsored by the Friends of the Royal Oak Public Library.
