Are We Alone? The Search for Life in the Universe: Ages 7 - 107

Wednesday, June 25
07:00 PM - 08:00 PM
Friends Auditorium

Adult, Teen, Youth

“There are some 400 billion stars in our galaxy. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space” (from the movie Contact). It is perhaps the greatest question asked by science, philosophy, and religion - is there life beyond the Earth? In all the vastness of the Universe, is our little planet the only place that has witnessed the spark of life? Learn about where we may find life in our Solar System, and the new search for life elsewhere in the Galaxy. We will examine the latest news from the frontiers of science as we ask what, and who, is out there? And, how can you join the search for alien life? UPDATED WITH THE LATEST FROM NASA! Presented by NASA Ambassador Michael Foerster. Limit 100.

Call the youth reference desk at 248-246-3725 for more information. Sponsored by the Friends of the Royal Oak Public Library.
