An Evening with Cole Porter

Stu Johnson, Royal Oak resident and frequent speaker at the Royal Oak Library, will be returning on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00 PM to premier his presentation Swingin’ Sounds of Cole Porter. Throughout his lifetime, Cole Porter wrote the lyrics and music to over 1300 songs, many of which are considered musical standards that are still being performed by today’s musicians.

Tony Bennett, Dinah Washington, Chris Connor, and many other jazz vocalists will sing songs like Night and Day, In the Still of the Night, It’s All Right with Me and Begin the Beguine, as we enjoy a PowerPoint presentation of the singers and Cole Porter himself.
