According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the air inside our homes is 2-5 times more polluted than the outdoor air. Unfortunately, many ingredients in household products have been linked to negative health effects, including headaches and dizziness, compromised immune systems, degradation of the nervous system, birth defects and cancer. Fortunately, whether tending the garden, polishing the furniture, or putting on lipstick, products without hazardous ingredients are available. Melissa Cooper Sargent, Education Coordinator at LocalMotionGreen, will discuss easy alternatives to these products. You will learn how to decipher labels and even make your own products from food-grade ingredients. This program includes a “Make and Take” workshop.
