Karen Lee Bercaw, 73 of Bronson passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014 at her home, while surrounded by her family.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment will follow at Snow Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson.Karen was born November 27, 1940 in Battle Creek to Karl and Ruby (Rapson) Evens. She spent most of her life in the Branch Co. area and had attended Bronson High School. On September 20, 1958 Karen married George Bercaw at the First United Methodist Church in Bronson. She worked for Bundy Tubing for 33 years, retiring in 2002.Karen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Lockwood Community Church, the UAW and active in T.O.P.S. for many years. Karen was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved to shop. Her true joy was spending time with her family and attending events for both her children and grandchildren.Mrs. Bercaw is survived by her husband of 56 years, George; her children Daniel (Cheryl) Bercaw of Bronson, David (Christie) Bercaw of Coldwater, Karleen Valentine (Rudy) of Bronson, Michael (Shanna) Bercaw of Bronson; her sisters Dorothy Shaw of Florida and Marilyn Thompson of Coldwater; her grandchildren Derek (Lisa) Bercaw, Darcy (Larry) Covey, Devin (Noah Powell) Bercaw, Chanelle Bercaw, Ryan Bercaw, Aaron Bercaw, Nicole Harris, Meagan Harris, Brandon McCally, Shane McCally, Stephanie (Joseph) Sanchez, Ashley Valentine, Michael (Valerie Gilbert) Bercaw, Amberly Bercaw; her great grandchildren Reagan, Tyler, and Grant Bercaw, Connor and Macy Covey, several nieces and nephews and her best friends Linda Cranson and Janet Hathaway.
