Have you ever wondered who lived in your home years ago? Who built it? What the house looked like originally? Join us as we welcome Ellen Thackery for her program “Genealogy of a House.” Ellen has been serving as a joint field representative for two organizations – the Michigan Historic Preservation Network and the National Trust for Historic Preservation – since 2004. Ellen will teach homeowners how to answer these questions. Her presentation will focus on researching a home’s past by using public records and local history resources, and will be followed by a question and answer period.

Registration is requested. Limit 100. Fill out the form below or call the Youth Reference Desk at 248-246-3727 to sign up for the free program.
