Anne M. Karolak (1925-2012)
Anne M. Karolak age 87 a longtime resident of Royal Oak died Wednesday October 31 2012 at Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak. She was born January 10 1925 on the family farm in New Haven to Nicholas and Margaret Winkoff. Mrs. Karolak was a bookkeeper for Sears and along with her late husband Chester "Chet" owned and operated Chets Barber Shop in Royal Oak for over 60 years. She enjoyed playing the piano and accordion line dancing and she adored her grandchildren. Surviving are her children Dennis (Angela) Karolak of Royal Oak James Karolak of Royal Oak; daughter-in-law Margaret Karolak of Montana; sister Elizabeth Kovich of Royal Oak; grandchildren Robert (Chelsea) Karolak Scott (Elizabeth) Karolak Laken Corte Liberty Erik and Stephanie Karolak and three great-grandchildren. Her husband Chet died in 2002 and her son Kenneth died in 1997. Visitation Monday 2-8 p.m. at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home 420 S. Lafayette Royal Oak.
