Donald W. Smith Jr. age 62 of Tulsa Oklahoma formerly of Berkley Michigan passed away on Monday June 25 2012 of a heart attack. He was born May 2 1950 in Detroit Mich. to Donald and Carol Ladd Allen Smith. Don graduated from Berkley High School in 1968 attended the University of Hawaii and Hawaii Loa. He was adored by all of his large family and always enjoyed the family pets. He was a very talented and gifted artist a computer programmer and a wonderful father. He is survived by his beloved and devoted daughter Caitlin Darling Smith and former wife Mary Gibbons Smith; parents Neil "D" and Carol Ladd Allen Ring; brothers Captain Bryan Edward (Susan Miller) Smith of Suttons Bay Mich. and Mark Allen (Mary Worth) Smith of Grand Rapids Mich.; sister Rebecca Jean Ring of Troy Mich.; nieces and nephews Meghan Brown Eilis Brown (Jared) Forrester Carrie Smith (Derek) McCombs Captain Neil Smith Erin Smith Sara Smith (Leendert) Pijpers Mark Smith Jr. and SPC Robert W. (Trysta Linton) Hurley.
