Doris V. McFarland, 96, of Grand Blanc, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Genesys Health Park, Grand Blanc. She was born May 13, 1911, in Montreal. Mrs. McFarland was a resident of Madison Heights from 1954 until 2005 and was a 50-year member of the Madison Heights United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer at St. John Oakland Hospital. Mrs. McFarland is survived by her children, Dolores Hamp of San Diego, Bob (Mary) McFarland of Grand Blanc, and Dan (Lorraine) McFarland of Warren; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Mike; three brothers; and one sister. Visitation is Friday from 2-8 p.m., and funeral Saturday at 10 a.m., at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre, Madison Heights. Burial will be at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
