Dorothy M. (Belling) Glander, 90, of Huntington Woods, died Sunday, March 23, 2008. She was born July 17,1917, in Appleton, Wisc. Mrs. Glander graduated from Appleton High School in 1935 and then worked in the offices of Belling Transfer and W.S. Patterson. She had a good singing voice and was in many local variety shows. After her marriage to Wendell Siefferman in the late 1940s, she moved to Huntington Woods, where she lived for the rest of her life. After Wendell's death, she married James Glander in 1978 and they remained married until his death in 1995. While living in Huntington Woods, she became an excellent medalist golfer. She loved boxer dogs and cared for many of them over the years. She also was active in the Detroit Woman's Council of the Navy League of the United States and was elected their president from 1983 to 1985. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Orville, Donald and Merland; and husbands, Wendell. Siefferman and James Glander of Ohio. She is survived by nephews, Wayne Belling of Milwaukee and Charles Belling of Madison, Wisc.; Gloria and Linda Belling, Susan (Belling), Lauren and Mich Dillon. A graveside memorial will take place at a future date at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton; memorial donations, Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
