Elsie M. Hnizda, 94, of Huntington Woods, died March 16, 2008, at Alexander Mercy Living Center, Royal Oak. She was born Sept. 7, 1913, in Ironwood. Mrs. Hnizda was a Huntington Woods resident for more than 62 years. She painted black ink silhouettes, was a seamstress and did upholstering. She loved spending time at the cottage in Higgins Lake with her family. Mrs. Hnizda is survived by her children, Georgene Vivier, Jane (Max) Brown, Ronald (Cheryl) Hnizda, and Gary Hnizda; sister Ingrid Taylor; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Vincent Hnizda, whom she married Oct. 12, 1939. Visitation Wednesday, 3-8 p.m., and funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m., will be at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile, Royal Oak. Burial will be at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley.
