Cynthia Lionts, 64, of Royal Oak, died Feb. 3, 2008, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born April 11, 1943, in Hamtramck. Mrs. Lionts fought a courageous battle with cancer. She was a lifelong resident of Royal Oak and a Ford Motor Co. retiree. Mrs. Lionts loved antiques, enjoyed watching her grandchildren and was a loyal Red Wings fan. Mrs. Lionts is survived by her children, Elaine (Chad) Buhs, Marie (Tim) Elliott, Jerry Lionts and Carole (Kevin) Henry; siblings Rosemarie (Edward) Frank, Cornelia Hall and Carole Andrus; and grandchildren Evelyn, Marlee, Marilyn, Jerrid, Olivia, Dylan and Renee. She was predeceased in 2000 by her husband, Jerry Lionts, whom she married April 24, 1965, in Livonia. She was also predeceased by her parents, Irene and Leo Andrus, and brother Leon Andrus. Visitation Tuesday, 6-9 p.m., and Wednesday, 2-9 p.m., will be at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W.11 Mile Road, Royal Oak. The funeral home will also host a rosary service, Wednesday, 7 p.m. Mrs. Lionts will lie in state Thursday, 9:30 a.m., until the 10 a.m. Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, Royal Oak. Burial will be at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. Memorial contributions may be made to Royal Oak Animal Shelter.
