Alberta Wood, 99, a longtime resident of Oak Park, died peacefully with her family beside her. She was bomFeb. 8, 1908, in Bakers-vine, Tenn. Alberta was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and two sons, Ed and Charles. Both sons served honorably in the U.S. Army. Ed served in World War II and during the Japan occupation. Charles served in the Korean War and is listed as missing in action. Alberta is survived by her daughter-in-law, Irene Shaw; grandchildren, Vicki (Jim) Bechtel, Chuck Shaw, Jeannie (Jim) Edwards, Scott (Hope) Shaw, and Jody (Bonnie) Shaw; great-grandchildren, Jimmy (Stacey), Angie, Shane, Kerry, Matthew, Jamie, Ashlee, Lisa, Eddie, Michael and Emily; great-great-grandchildren, Savannah, Joshua, Graceyann and Anthony; and nieces and nephews, Mary, Kim (Jamie), Karen, Emily, Betty, Frank (Hillary) and Rachel.
