Robert F. Monohon, 87, of Royal Oak died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008. He was born May 16, 1920, in Omaha, Neb. Mr. Monohon was a U.S. naval officer in World War II and in the naval reserves for 24 years. He was a graduate of the University of Detroit. His interests included stamp collecting, amateur photography, gems, minerals and model railroading. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia, in June 1983; a son, Ronald; and a brother, Paul. Surviving are his children, Michael, Kathy and Mary; brother, John (Kay); sister-in-law, Pat; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
