Theodore R. Ashburn, 81, of Royal Oak since 1957, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He was born June 9, 1926, in Detroit. Mr. Ashburn was a resident of Royal Oak Manor. He was a retired independent truck driver and a World War II Navy veteran who served in the Pacific Theater. He also was a member of the Frank Wendland American Legion. Mr. Ashburn is survived by his wife, Marvel, whom he married Aug. 2, 1947, in Detroit; children, Ron (Mary) Ashburn of Las Vegas, Nev., Gary (Maribeth) Ashburn of Richmond, Lynn Demeter of Shelby, Ohio, Sandy Schuman of Warren, Don Ashburn of Sterling Heights, Dave (Pam) Ashburn of Hazel Park; Jerry (Angie) Ashburn of Oakland Township, Nancy (Tom Williams) Ashburn of Oakland Township, Carol (Woody) Wood-rich of Royal Oak, Donna Ashburn of Berkley, Tim Ashburn of Royal Oak, and Tom (Dawn) Ashburn of Berkley; a brother, Richard Ashburn of Dearborn; 26 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Kenny Ashburn, in 2005. Visitation, 1-9 p.m. Saturday at Wm.
