Howard Lee "Mitch" Mitchell Jr., 49, a resident of Sterling Heights for the past five years, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, in his home. He was born Feb. 27, 1956, in Trenton. Mr. Mitchell, formerly of Ypsilanti, was employed as a customer service manager at Industrial Metal Coating in Sterling Heights. He married Deborah Sue Ma-loft on Sept. 18, 1976, in Birmingham and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Sterling Heights. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Deborah; children, Tanya A. Mitchell and Howard Mitchell B1, both of Sterling Heights, and Michael Mitchell of Ypsilanti; mother, Helen Mitchell of Birmingham; grandchildren, Shay-nee, Rylee and Dylan Mitchell; and siblings, Mary (John) Foils of Royal Oak and Kyle Mitchell of Birmingham. He also will be missed by his dog, Duke. He was predeceased by his father, Howard Mitchell Sr. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Price Funeral Home, 3725 Rochester Road, Troy, with the Rev. William C. Lawrence of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills. Visitation is 2:30-8 p.m. Thursday.
