Andreas C. "Andy" Polemitis, 81, of Clawson since 1961, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at The Laurel's of Mt. Pleasant. He was born April 1, 1926 in Limassol, Cyprus. Mr. Polemitis received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Nebraska. He was a restaurateur and former owner of the Busy Oak in Royal Oak, and also worked in the restaurant at Sears. Mr. Polemitis enjoyed fishing wherever he could and playing and winning at card games. He was an avid sports fan, especially football and baseball. He was the youngest of 11 children, and when first married lived in South Africa for nine years to start his career. His family members also resided in South Africa and four of his five children were born there. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Katherine (nee Kraimer); children, Laura Savoie (Tom Stephenson), Annalia Polemitis, Steven A. (Lucy), Harold F. (Mary) and Frank (Christine); grandchildren, Brian Savoie, Nicholas Polemitis, Christopher Polemitis (Stacy), Maia Schneberger, Brynn Schneberger and Nicole Polemitis; great-grandchild, Olivia Polemitis; sister, Poly Economou (Symeon); and many nieces and nephews.
