Geraldine McDowell, 79, of Ferndale, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at St. John Hospital Oakland, Madison Heights. She was born June 24, 1928, in Uniontown, Pa. She worked in Environmental Services at William Beaumont Hospital for over 28 years. She was a past member of Ryan Road Baptist Church, and loved helping many charities. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, in 2002, and a daughter, Pamela Cooper. Surviving are a daughter, Twila (Dennis) Zysk; grandchildren, Dennis, Jr., Dawn, David, Chuck, Dana and Michelle; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Service, 10 a.m. today at Wessels & Wilk Funeral Home, 23690 Woodward Ave., Pleasant Ridge, with the Rev. Paul F. Gateman officiating; burial, Oakview Cemetery; memorials, donor's choice.
