Esther E. Kile, 82, of South Bend, Ind., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at the Hospice House of South Bend. She was born May 1, 1925, in Elkhart, Ind., to Edward and Mary (Moyer) Drange. Mrs. Kile had been employed as a library assistant at Hazel Park High School until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Gospel Center Missionary Church in South Bend. Mrs. Kile was predeceased on March 27, 2002, by her husband, Marion F. Kile, whom she wed Dec. 23, 1945 ,in Elkhart; plus a son, Randall C. Kile; and a sister, Ruth Swartzell. Surviving are her daughter, Janis (Mark) Christensen of Edwardsburg; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Carr of Elkhart. Visitation, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gospel Center Missionary Church in South Bend; further visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service which will be officiated by Pastor Phil Jerome at the church; burial, Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart; memorials, Craig Kile Trust Fund in care of any First Source Bank; arrangements, Hartzler-GutermuthInman Funeral Home in Elkhart.
