Stanley E. Sawyer, 63, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at his home in Longmont, Colo. He was born Oct. 6, 1944, in Berkley to the late Edward and Ileene (nee Randolph) Sawyer, the founders of Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home. Stanley grew up in Berkley and graduated from Berkley High School and Detroit Diesel College. Stanley married Sandra Brown and they later divorced. He then married Hallie Sue Hottel in Denver, Colo., on April 14, 1973. He moved to Longmont, Colo., from Milford in 1981. Stanley retired in 2005 from AQS, where he worked in grounds maintenance. Stanley was a charter member of Rocky Mountain Christian Church. He was also involved in DeMolay, Husbands of Daughters of the American Revolution (HODAR), and Grandpa of Children of the American Revolution (GPCAR). He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Hallie Sue, of Longmont, Colo.; four daughters, Karen Schafer and Kimberley Cox, both of Harrison, Mich., Kristina (Ryan) Wheeler of Broadwater, Neb., and Karrie Sawyer of Longmont; his sister, Yvonne (William) Fuller, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; five grandchildren, Tim Sawyer-Garza, Tessa Wheeler, Fox Garza, Austin Wheeler and Kallie Sawyer. Memorial service, 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont, CO 80501.
