William Kenneth Fife, 85, of Sterling Heights, formerly a 50year resident of Ferndale, passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 30, 2007. Mr. Fife was born June 3, 1922, in West Frankfort, Ill. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps before entering the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943. He served in the South Pacific with the 2nd Marine Division, Tank Battalion, from 1943 to 1946. He was employed by Palace Quality Laundry upon his return and retired from that company at age 62. Mr. Fift is survived by his wife of 67 years, Neta Irene; four children, Janet (Thomas) Thatcher of Washington, Mich., Judith (Robert) Reed of Clawson, Ronald (Judith) of Royal Oak, and Keith (Ann) Fife of Oxford; 10 grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren. Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday, Dec. 6, at the First United Methodist Church of Ferndale, 22331 Woodward Ave., followed by memorial service at 1 p.m.
