Edward Alan Rock, 78, of Dayton, Tenn., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. He was born in Troy, to the late Herbert and Jessie (Mahaffey) Rock. He lived in Clawson until 1985 when he retired as vice president of Comerica Bank. While living in Clawson, he was a member of the Troy Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and minister of music. In 2002, he moved to Dayton, Tenn., where he was a member of the New Union Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife, Frances (Cloninger) Rock of Dayton; children, Janet Miller of Troy, Linda (Bob) Hamilton of Lake Orion, Kathy (Bob) Ruggiero of Sebring, Fla., David (Kim) Rock of Sylvania, Ohio; sister, Irene Heiber of Michigan, and numerous grandchildren; and greatgrandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at Woodside Bible Church, 6600 Rochester Road, Troy, with Dr. Doug Schmidt and the Rev. David Andersen officiating.
