Helen A. Greenwood, 85, of Royal Oak, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007. She was born in Sesser, Ill. Mrs. Greenwood moved to Detroit when her husband went to work for Chrysler and moved in 1959 to Royal Oak. They retired in Beaverton, and she enjoyed taking her grandchildren to northern Michigan to the lake for weekend trips. Her family described her as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was devoted to her family and was a great cook. She was able to feed anyone at any time with whatever was available, which made her happy. Relatives said she was unselfish and an incredible host. While residing in Beaverton, she had girls group that met Wednesday nights. Her family said she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Mrs. Greenwood is survived by her children, Burrell (Ryme) and Kim (Craig); grandchildren, Bob, Jessica, Kristen, Michelle and Rick; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Josie, Andrea, Logan, Brett and Meredith; and brother, Phill. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Tuesday at Guardian Angels Church, 581 E. 14 Mile Road, Clawson. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road (between Maple and Big Beaver), Troy. Additional visitation is 11:30 a.m.-noon Tuesday at the church.
