Florence J. Bleavins, 72, of Warren, died Oct. 17, 2007. She was born Florence Weimer on Aug. 8, 1935, in Johnstown, Pa. Florence was a treasured wife and dear mother, and one of the kindest people in our lives. Florence graduated from Madison High School in 1953, and married Merle Bleavins on Feb. 13, 1954. She raised her three children to have a strong work ethic and provided unwavering support to help them accomplish all that they could. Florence also was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Royal Oak. Although physically limited during her last several years, Florence remained strong of spirit until her heart could no longer sustain her. She maintained her positive role in the family, inspiring those around her with inner strength and optimism. She is survived by her husband, Merle; and three children, Michael Bleavins (Charlotte Olson) of Pinckney, Mark Bleavins (Michele) of Marietta, Ga., and Maria Groves (Larry) of Johnsburg, Ill.; six grandchildren, Katherine, Cesare, Alicia, Mark Richard, Gibson and Gavin; and her sister, Jean Sotzen of Clawson, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Hughes and Lawrence "Doc" Weimer; and her brother, Lawrence Weimer. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at KinseyGarrett Funeral Home, 420 S. Lafayette, Royal Oak. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy.
