Harry J. Haifleigh Jr, 81, of Madison Heights, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, in Madison Heights. He was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Detroit. Mr. Haifleigh was a 53year resident of Madison Heights, and a charter member of St. Vincent Ferrer Church, Madison Heights. He graduated from St. Ritas High School in Detroit. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1983 after 38 years. He was a veteran of the US. Army and was a Civil War buff. He loved old cars and movies, and volunteered at a soup kitchen run by Mother Theresa Sisters of Charity. He is survived by his wife, Mary, whom he wed in 1951 in Detroit; children, David (Lisa) Haifleigh of Denver, Colo., Sandra (Victor) Borden of Indianapolis, Ind., Richard (Jody) Haifleigh of Wolverine Lake, Mich.; brother, James (Doris) Haifleigh of Lake Orion, Mich.; grandchildren, Zachary, Senia, Kam, Elliott, Rose, Tempel and Isabel. Visitation, 39 p.m. Wednesday at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre, Madison Heights; further visitation, 9:3010 a.m. Thursday until 10 a.m. service at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, Madison Heights, with the Rev. John Esper, pastor of the church, officiating; burial, White Chapel Cemetery.
