Christine C. Pidek, of Royal Oak since 1951, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Dearborn. A graduate of St. James High School, Ferndale, Mrs. Pidek received an associate's degree from Oakland Community College. She was an avid reader who enjoyed volunteer work at St. Mary's Grade School Library and the hospice program at Providence Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Felix Pidek, on Nov. 22, 2006. The couple were wed June 14, 1951, in Hamtramck. She was also predeceased by son Gregory and by sister Connie Nicholls. Surviving are her children, Catherine Pidek of Oak Park, Ili., Michael (Marsha Lyttle) Pidek of Owosso, Matthew Pidek of Lake Orion and Michele (Dana) Gill of Santa Clara, Calif; sisters, Monica Clancy, Mary Jane (Don) Murray and Judy Calverley; seven grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
