Deborah Ann Brown, 59, a Royal Oak resident for 11 years and formerly of Birmingham for more than 10 years, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, in Pontiac. She was born July 1, 1948, in Pontiac. She graduated from Oxford Academy in Oxford and was the secretary to Staff Development at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac for 11 years. She was also very proud that 10 years ago she became a Certified Medical Assistant, working in the OB/GYN Dept. She also started her own small lawn service. Deborah loved riding her bike, traveling, trips to the ocean and exercising all the time. She hiked up and down the Grand Canyon all in the same day. She also traveled to Hawaii several times. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, movies and music. She was the beloved partner of Jill Calvin; loving daughter of Virginia and the late Emmet Van Natter; dearest friend of Eileen Nichols and the Nichols family. She also is 'survived by her brother, Kurt Van Natter; niece Jessica; dear Aunt Lena and many cousins and friends. Visitation 28 p.m. Tuesday at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward; further visitation Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial Mass at National Shrine of the Little Flower, Royal Oak. Memorial tributes to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
