Sidney H. Hoffman, 91, of Highland Park, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Woodward Hills Nursing Home, Bloomfield Hills. He was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Detroit. Mr. Hoffman served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant commander during World War II and Korea. He worked for Wayne County as a librarian until his retirement in 1977. He received his bachelor's degree from Wayne State University, and his master's degree from the University of Michigan. He was a member of the Wayne County Supervisory Employees Association, and the alumni associations of Wayne State University and the University of Michigan. He was predeceased by a son, Marc W; and siblings, Marian, Marcia and William. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, whom he wed July 12, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio; daughter, Martha (fiance Patrick Michael) Hoffman; cousin, Stanford P (Elizabeth) Gross; and many friends.
