William "Mo" Lawson, 78, of Madison Heights, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at Hilton Convalescent Home, Ferndale. He was born Nov. 20, 1928, in Detroit. Mr. Lawson lived in Madison Heights for most of his life. He loved thoroughbred horse racing and NASCAR racing. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He was predeceased by wife, Helen, in August 1998; grandson, Ray Parsons; great-granddaughter, Victoria Lawson; and sisters, Barbara (the late Phil) Holtkamp, Sue (the late Newell) King, and Ruth (the late Richard) Musolff. Mr. Lawson is survived by his children, Carol Lawson of Frankville, N.C., Joan Lawson of Clawson, Mich., Charm Bliss of Warren, Mich., Dawn (Khaled) Kasbah of Dearborn, Mich., Terry (Dennis) Nicholson of Clinton Township, Mich., Dean Lawson of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Mark (Karen) Lawson of Madison Heights; brothers, Robert (Kathleen) Lawson of Mattawan, Mich.; and Bill (Margaret) Buck of Tucson, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation, 2:30-9 p.m. Sunday at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre, Madison Heights; services, 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brian Lawson officiating; burial, White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Mich; memorials, Parkinson Foundation, 30161 Southfield Road, Suite 119, Southfield, MI 48075; or donor's choice.
