David L. Petts, 78, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Henry Ford of Macomb, Warren. Mr. Petts served in the U.S. Navy. He was a General Motors retiree and member of St. Pat's Knights of Columbus and St. Martin de Porres Church, Warren. He was a loving husband and father, a fun-loving grandfather and someone who made friends easily. Mr. Petts is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Irene (nee Gorecki); children, Patricia (William) Bond, David Jr. (Rochelle), Thomas (Laurie), Carol (Mark) Schurig and Jan (Robert) Joye; grandchildren, Remi (William) Darroch, Nathan Petts, Arnie (Robert) Gable, Katie Petts, Emily Petts, Kevin (Monica) Schurig, Erin Schurig, Brett Joye and Garrett Joye; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Nicole Darroch; and brother, Richard (Joan) Petts. Visitation, 2-9 p.m. today with a St. Pat's K of C Rosary at 7 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, 11470 13 Mile Road (west of Hoover), Warren; in-state, 9 a.m. Thursday until 9:30 a.m. Mass is celebrated at St. Martin de Porres Church, 31555 Hoover Road, (north of 13 Mile) Warren; memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzhieimer's Association Greater Michigan Chapter.
