Rosemary Smith, 78, of Royal Oak for 53 years, died of respiratory complications Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at St. John-Oakland Hospital, Madison Heights. She was born March 27, 1929, in Detroit. Mrs. Smith graduated from Berkley High School in 1947, and remained active with Berkley High School Friends by serving on reunion committees. She was a faithful and active member of the Berkley First United Methodist Church. During their retirement, Rosemary traveled with her husband to all 50 states. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 59 years, Arthur, whom she married on June 19, 1948, in Royal Oak. Also surviving are her sons, Mark (Carolyn) Smith of Traverse City, and Bruce (Marsha) Smith of Temple Hills, Md.; grandchildren, Robert Eder, Randall Smith, Jonathon Eder, Andrea (Jamie) Kurth, Benjamin (Angela) Smith, and Gail Smith; and great-grandson, Braden Kurth. Visitation, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 W. 12 Mile Road, Berkley; additional visitation, noon Saturday until 1 p.m. service at Berkley First United Methodist Church, 2820 12 Mile Road, Berkley; private interment, Acacia Park Cemetery; memorials, Berkley First United Methodist Women.
