Anne M. Shields, 89, of Royal Oak, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at Heartland Fostrian Manor Care Center in Flushing. She was born Sept. 19, 1917, in Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Shields, a graduate of Grace Hospital School of Nursing, was a registered nurse. She formerly worked for Henry Ford Hospital, provided home nursing care and retired in 1983 from Cambridge North Nursing Home in Clawson. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Royal Oak and the cancer sewing group at the church. She married Frederick Shields 'in 1947 in Detroit. Mrs. Shields is survived by her step-son, Frederick of Florida; and niece, Hillary Patenaude of California. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick, in 1973. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, 529 Hendrie Blvd., Royal Oak, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas F. Rice officiating. Visitation is 1:30-2 p.m. Wednesday.
