Barbara Jean Zalewski, 81, of Hadley, formerly of Clawson and Troy, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007. She was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Morris, Minn. Mrs. Zalewski married Ted Zalewski on Aug. 16,1944, in Bilouxi, Miss. She was a mother and homemaker for all of her life. After her children were grown, she worked as a reporter and marketing representative for the Lapeer County Press, where she retired in 1990. She was a longtime member of Hadley Community Church. Mrs. Zalewski is survived by son, Daniel (Lorraine) Zalewski of Clinton Township; daughter, Caralynn Joy Zalewski of Billings, Montana; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Suzanne, Pamela and Michael; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Sarah, Vaughn and Gavin; and sisters, Irene Hoeppner of Melbourne, Fla., Waldean Morrisett of Springfield, Mo. and Charlianna (Robert) Morland of Kimberling City Mo. She was predeceased by her husband, Ted, her parents, Charles and Mabel (Peterson) Swanson; brother, Charles Swanson; and step-sister, Lucille Dethrow. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hadley Community Church in Hadley, with the Rev. Rich Geigert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Green Corners Cemetery in Hadley.
