Ruth M. Brown, 93, of Royal Oak, died Aug. 24,_2007, at Woodward Hills Nursing Center in Bloomfield Hills. She was born April 18, 1914, in Detroit. Mrs. Brown has lived in Royal Oak for 45 years. She was a master swimmer in her 70s. She was predeceased by her husband, Edmund, in 1997. Surviving are two children, Diane (John) Pope of Madison Heights and Roger (Kathy) Brown of Corvallis, Ore.; two grandchildren, David Pope and Beth (James) Kokotovich; and two great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Kayla. Visitation is 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. today at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre, Madison Heights; services 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with Pastor Ranee Roach officiating; burial Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak; memorials, donor's choice.
